Structure-flex predict record summer for lorry curtains
The UK’s largest producer of lorry tension curtains is once again poised for a record summer of demand as operators seek to expand and refresh their HGV fleets.
Since the pandemic, the Norfolk-based manufacturer of thermoplastic products has seen continually increasing demand for the side curtains they produce for new and existing heavy goods vehicles.
And, with a number of other manufacturers having exited the market, they anticipate the trend to continue throughout 2024 and beyond.
“Demand is high and looks set to continue to rise as operators continue to invest in their fleets. Our team are working more productively than ever to satisfy orders, helped by our investment in technology” says Paul Reeve, Managing Director of Structure-flex.
In the last 18 months, Structure-flex have made significant investment in technology, including grand format digital printers and extra-long high-frequency welding equipment which enables them to produce curtains up to 16m long with greater ease.
Following the demise of a number of competitors, Structure-flex has cemented its position as the UK’s largest lorry tension curtain manufacturer and is producing more than ever in its 54-year history.

Structure-flex was established in 1970, just one year after the flexible lorry tension curtain was first seen on roads across Britain, Europe and America.
The firm can produce curtains for any dimension of trailer, including for specialist systems like Smoothside and Reflex, as well as the popular Adaico Ada-slider.
“Lorry curtains not only need to be tough to do their job but they also have an opportunity to look great and help advertise our clients’ brands too. We aim to ensure our curtains excel at both by using stronger materials, better processes and more vibrant inks and printing” states Paul.
To accompany their industry-leading lorry tension curtains, Structure-flex also offer a variety of digital printing services including vehicle graphics and wraps.
As specialists in products made from thermoplastic coated fabrics, Structure-flex also produce bio-gas bags, water-filled crane test bags and pillow tanks which can hold up to 250,000 litres of liquid.
The firm has received recent recognition for their manufacturing of the Mobildeich Flood Defence Barrier, which has seen growing use across Europe as authorities deploy it to protect people and properties from flooding.
