Structure-flex Help North Norfolk District Council Welcome Visitors with Social Distancing Signs

Flexible printing experts Structure-flex have begun producing 7,000 signs to advise visitors “You Are Welcome” to shop safely in the eight most popular towns and beaches in North Norfolk.

With retail reopening, North Norfolk District Council have asked Structure-flex to create pavement stickers to place in Cromer, Fakenham, Holt, Hoveton, Mundesley, Sheringham, Stalham and Wells, reminding visitors of social distancing measures.

Councillor Bütikofer, Leader of North Norfolk District Council, said “This is a new campaign that we’re launching, to make people feel welcome and safe when they come to our towns and beaches around the district.”

Flexible thermoplastic and digital printing experts Structure-flex possess the largest roll-to-roll ‘grand format’ print capability in the region, capable of printing onto a range of materials in both large size and high volume. The printer is currently working hard to produce the hard-wearing adhesive pavement stickers for deployment.

To help launch the ‘You Are Welcome’ campaign, the Council Leader, Chief Executive Steve Blatch and Portfolio Holder for Economic & Career Development Councillor Kershaw paid a socially distanced visit to the factory to see the decals in production.

“North Norfolk have come to Structure-flex, a local company that we’re delighted to award our contract to. These signs that Structure-flex are helping us with, are designed to help people remember that they still need to keep their distance, wash their hands regularly and queue responsibly. We want people to feel welcome at all times, but still appreciate that we all have the rules and the guidelines that we still have to abide by to keep us all safe at this time” added Councillor Bütikofer

Paul Reeve, MD of Structure-flex, said “We’re delighted to be once again putting our unique capabilities to good use to support the response to the pandemic. Though more frequently used for lorry tension curtains, our grand format printers give us the largest printing format in Norfolk and Suffolk, making it ideal for quickly creating large and durable stickers”

In addition to stickers to apply to outside pavements, Structure-flex are also creating stickers for internal floors and carpets, featuring anti-slip laminate to make them safe and durable.

Funded by the Government’s Re-opening the High Street Safely Fund, North Norfolk District Council is working to ensure that local retail, town centre and seafront businesses can re-open to allow residents and visitors to shop safely. North Norfolk District Council is providing staff to advise businesses on the social distancing measures and the implementation of appropriate social distancing measures such as queue management and PPE.

More typically producers of lorry tension curtains, bulk storage bags and water filled load testing bags, Structure-flex recently also began producing reusable PPE face shields which have be used by health care providers and companies returning to work, including Hotel Chocolat.
